fa بررسی و تدقیق در مبانی نظری منظر اکولوژیک جهت کشف چیستی مفهوم شهرآب Investigating and examining the theoretical foundations of the ecological landscape to discover what the concept of water city is. تخصصي Special پژوهشي Original Research Article در جغرافیای تاریخی ایران، آب نه تنها یک منبع زیستی، بلکه به‌مثابه عاملی بنیادین در شکل‌دهی به ساختارهای کالبدی، سازمان فضایی و حتی نظام‌های معنایی و هویتی سکونتگاه‌های انسانی عمل کرده است. آب، در مقام یک نیروی مولد، در بنیان‌گذاری شهرها، تکوین شبکه‌های ارتباطی، شکل‌گیری باغ‌ها، محله‌ها حضور داشته و از این‌رو، جایگاهی ممتاز در فرهنگ، حافظه جمعی و زیست‌بوم ایرانی یافته است. با این حال، مفهوم «شهرِآب» به‌عنوان صورت‌بندی‌ای مفهومی از رابطه‌ شهر و آب، تاکنون در ادبیات معماری و شهرسازی معاصر ایران به‌گونه‌ای ساخت‌یافته و تحلیلی تبیین نشده و اغلب در سطح توصیفی باقی مانده است. مقاله حاضر با هدف کشف چیستی مفهوم «شهرِآب» و ارزیابی ظرفیت‌های آن، به بازخوانی پیوندهای متقابل میان آب و محیط در قالب پارادایم منظر اکولوژیک می‌پردازد. پرسش اصلی این است که «شهرِآب» چه مؤلفه‌های ساختاری، عملکردی و معنایی دارد و چگونه می‌تواند به‌عنوان مدلی بوم‌سازگار در طراحی و بازآفرینی شهری عمل کند و در نمونه‌ موردی شهر بابل، تلاش شده است تا تصویر روشن‌تری از کارکرد آب در سازمان‌دهی منظر شهری ارائه شود. یافته‌های پژوهش نشان می‌دهد که «شهرِآب» نه صرفاً به معنای شهری دارای منابع یا شبکه آبی، بلکه نظامی یکپارچه از روابط بوم‌شناختی، اجتماعی و کالبدی است که در آن آب به‌عنوان عنصری حیاتی، هویتی و معنا نقش‌آفرینی می‌کند. بنابراین، رودخانه نه یک مرز طبیعی، بلکه محور تعاملات اجتماعی، تولید فضا و حافظه تاریخی محسوب می‌شود. فهم مجدد این مفهوم می‌تواند بنیانی برای بازتعریف الگوهای توسعه پایدار، طراحی هم‌ساز با بوم و احیای زیست‌پذیری شهرهای ایرانی فراهم آورد.    In the historical geography of Iran, water has served not only as a life-sustaining resource but also as a key force in shaping the spatial, structural, and symbolic dimensions of human settlements. As a generative element, it has influenced the formation of cities, neighborhoods, and landscapes, gaining a central place in Iranian ecology and cultural memory. Despite its significance, the concept of the “Water City” (Shahr-e Âb)—as a structured model of the water-city relationship—remains underdeveloped in contemporary Iranian architectural and urban literature, often treated descriptively rather than analytically. This study aims to explore the essence of the “Water City” by reinterpreting the relationship between water and environment within the paradigm of ecological landscape. The core question asks: what structural, functional, and semantic elements define a “Water City,” and how might it serve as an eco-compatible model for urban regeneration? Through a case study of the city of Babol, the research highlights how water contributes to the urban landscape’s organization beyond mere infrastructure. Findings indicate that a “Water City” is not just a city with waterways, but an integrated ecological, spatial, and cultural system where water plays a vital, identity-forming role. Rivers, in this context, act not as boundaries but as social and spatial catalysts.
